The children’s ministry at Calvary Baptist Church includes children from pre-school through 5th grade. Calvary Kids are involved in many different activities ranging from local ministry to Vacation Bible School and Awana. Message Emily Lucas for more info or come check us out any time!
AWANA
We host three Awana clubs at Calvary: Cubbies, Sparks and T&T.
Clubs start September 3rd & run through April. Registration is required. There is no charge for participating in Awana clubs and no requirement to be a member of Calvary Baptist. Awana clubs at Calvary operate in line with the Nelson County school system for inclement weather closings. Learn more about AWANA here.
WEEKLY SCHEDULE
Wednesday Nights
Children meet for Awana Wednesday nights from 6:15 to 7:45pm during the school year for a time of recreation, fellowship, worship, Bible study and small groups.

A complimentary dinner is served from 5:45pm to 6:15pm Wednesday nights during the school year.
*Wednesday night groups operate inline with the Nelson County school system for inclement weather closings.
Sunday School
Children meet Sunday mornings at 10:00am for Bible study by age group. Sunday Service starts at 11:00am.

There is a complimentary breakfast snack bar Sunday mornings.
SPECIAL EVENTS
We facilitate many fellowship, service and outreach events beyond the weekly schedule. Vacation Bible School, Kid’s Fishing Day, Trunk or Treat, 5th Sunday Kid Missions, etc.
Vacation Bible School
Calvary hosts Vacation Bible School annually for children age 2 through 5th grade. VBS dates & registration info for summer 2026 will be announced in late spring.
