We host three Awana clubs at Calvary: Cubbies, Sparks and T&T. Clubs start September 3rd & run through April. Registration is required. There is no charge for participating in Awana clubs and no requirement to be a member of Calvary Baptist. Awana clubs at Calvary operate in line with the Nelson County school system for inclement weather closings.
A complimentary dinner is served at 5:45pm in the fellowship hall, followed by Awana clubs from 6:15pm to 7:45pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult for dinner and be signed in and out of Awana club each night.
If you are interested in helping with AWANA, please let us know. You do not have to be a member of Calvary to help. A nursery is provided for AWANA workers’ children.
What is Awana?
AWANA is the acronym for “Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed” which is found in II Timothy 2:15. It is a global, nonprofit Christian ministry that partners with churches and families to provide Bible-based discipleship for children and youth from Pre-K (age 3) through 5th grade with the goal of helping children know, love, and serve Jesus. It is a fun approach to learning God’s Word and building character through games and activities. Each Club Night, the clubbers have Game Time, Handbook Time and Large Group Time.
